Location: Murchison Falls National Park is located in northwestern Uganda, approximately 300 kilometers (186 miles) northwest of Kampala, the capital city.
Wildlife: The park is home to a diverse array of wildlife, including elephants, lions, leopards, giraffes, buffalos, hippos, crocodiles, and a variety of antelopes. It's also known for its primate population, including chimpanzees and baboons, and for rare species such as the shoebill stork.
Murchison Falls is named after the magnificent Murchison Falls, where the Nile River squeezes through a narrow gorge before plunging 43 meters (141 feet) down into the "Devil's Cauldron" below. The falls can be viewed from above or below, and visitors can take a boat ride to the base of the falls.
