3 Day Murchison Falls safari
Day 1:
- Early morning departure from Kampala for Murchison Falls National Park (approximately 5-6 hours drive)
- Stop at Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary for a guided nature walk to see the rhinos in their natural habitat
- Continue to the park and check into your accommodation.
- In the afternoon, take a boat safari on the Nile River to the bottom of the Murchison Falls, with chances of seeing hippos, crocodiles, elephants, buffaloes and various bird species.
- Return to your accommodation for dinner and overnight stay.
Day 2:
- Go on an early morning game drive on the northern bank of the park, with chances of spotting lions, leopards, hyenas, giraffes, Uganda kobs, waterbucks, oribi, warthogs, and many more.
- Return to your accommodation for breakfast and some relaxation time.
- In the afternoon, take a nature walk to the top of the Murchison Falls, where you'll experience the breathtaking sight of the Nile River squeezing through a narrow gorge and dropping down with a thunderous roar.
- Return to your accommodation for dinner and overnight stay.
Day 3:
- After breakfast, go for another game drive on the southern bank of the park. You might have the opportunity to see buffaloes, elephants, giraffes, Uganda kobs, hartebeests, lions, leopards, and hyenas among other wildlife.
- Return to your accommodation and check out.
- Depart for Kampala, with lunch en route.
- Arrive in Kampala late afternoon, marking the end of your 3-day Murchison Falls safari.
Activities
- Game Drives: Take a guided game drive through the park and experience a variety of wildlife such as lions, elephants, giraffes, hyenas, Uganda kobs, buffaloes, warthogs, waterbucks, and many more.
- Boat Safaris: Enjoy a boat safari on the Victoria Nile and experience the mighty Murchison Falls up close. You will have the opportunity to see various bird species, crocodiles, hippos, buffaloes, and elephants among other animals.
- Nature Walks: Explore the park on foot with a guided nature walk and discover the park's flora and fauna up close. You can also take a hike to the top of the Murchison Falls, where you will witness the breathtaking sight of the Nile River squeezing through a narrow gorge and dropping down with a thunderous roar.
- Chimpanzee Tracking: Take a guided chimpanzee tracking excursion in Budongo Forest Reserve, which is adjacent to Murchison Falls National Park. Budongo Forest is home to over 600 chimpanzees and several other primate species.
